Breitling Superocean 44 Special

Breitling have unveiled the new Breitling Superocean 44 Special Edition replica, their second ever watch to feature a ceramic bezel. This could be a signal that Breitling are going to start offering ceramic bezels on a wider range of their luxury watch collections, a move that has already been made by competitors such as Rolex and Omega.

The first was the impressive, yet affordable, Breitling Chronoliner, which was released in early 2015.

Breitling have designated the title of “Ocean Pilot” onto the new Breitling Superocean 44 special replica , as the Swiss watchmaker have ensured that the latest addition to their esteemed collection combines the optimal legibility of a pilot timepiece with the durability of a dive watch.

The watch is presented in a 44mm case in PVD-coated black steel, with the volcano black colour scheme extending onto the ceramic bezel, dial, and the strap.

Legibility is of utmost importance on a dive watch, as it is likely that their functionality will be required in the Superocean 44 Special Breitling Watchdarkest ocean depths at some point.  Swiss Fake Breitling Superocean 44 have taken several steps, particularly on the dial, to ensure that the Superocean 44 Special will compete with the best dive watches on the market.

The white hour markers, numerals and oversized hands provide a stark contrast to the darkness of the dial, and they have all been accentuated with a luminescent coating to improve readability in extreme conditions.

Housed inside the Superocean’s black steel case is Breitling’s in-house caliber 17 movement. As is the case with the vast majority of movements developed and manufactured by the Swiss brand, the caliber 17 has been certified as a COSC chronometer. This movement provides the watch with an impressive water resistance of up to 1000 metres, as well as powering the time, chronograph and date functions, with the date window visible at 3 o’clock on the dial.

The new Breitling Superocean 44 Special is finished with a “mono-black” ceramic bezel, and unlike many other watches that merely provide ceramic as an “insert”, the bezel is in fact a solid piece of ceramic the whole way around. This provides a more scratch resistant surface, a highly desirable characteristic as it usually the bezel that takes the brunt of daily wear-and-tear.

The Breitling Superocean 44 Special will retail in the United Kingdom for a price of £3,450.
